Passaic is one of the densest cities in New Jersey — and one of the oldest. The housing stock dates as far back as the late 1800s for some of the multi-family two- and three-deckers near Main Avenue, and even the "newer" sections of the city (Speer / Aycrigg area) are largely pre-1960. That makes Passaic one of our most consistent service territories for everything from emergency leak calls to full replacement.
Housing in Passaic
Old multi-family homes (two- and three-deckers), tight building lots with shared driveways, and a meaningful share of flat or low-slope porch and dormer roofs in addition to the main pitched roof. Many original chimneys are unlined brick, and original flashing is almost always overdue for replacement on a roof of any real age.
What we most commonly find on Passaic roofs
- Flat porch / dormer roofs leaking at the seam against the main house
- Old single-wall lead pipe boots cracking at the collar
- Chimney flashing failure on shared-wall two-families
- Ice dams along eaves with no ventilation upgrade in 50+ years
- Wind-blown shingles after Nor'easters off the river
Why we work in Passaic
Passaic is two miles east — closer to our shop than half of Clifton is. Same-day response on a leak call here is basically a given.
